Textual heritage e il futuro delle digital humanities

Abstract

Questo articolo intende fare il punto sul rapporto tra digital humanities e cultural heritage, e i benefici che questi concetti relativamente nuovi possono portare alla ricontestualizzazione non solo dei prodotti culturali testuali – in primis le opere letterarie – e della loro diffusione in una nuova dimensione digitale, ma anche alla riflessione su ruolo e funzione degli studi letterari nel XXI secolo. Dimostrando, attraverso un’analisi dei programmi UNESCO, come i testi siano stati finora quasi ignorati nel dibattito accademico-istituzionale sul cultural heritage, l’articolo propone quindi il concetto di textual heritage quale categoria teorica utile a ripensare la storia della produzione e trasmissione dei testi, e implicitamente le possibilità di applicazione degli studi letterari in un orizzonte più ampio, interdisciplinare, e potenzialmente coniugabile in una dimensione pubblica, sociale, democratica, che si riassume nella domanda: cosa si deve fare e come si devono riutilizzare i testi del passato?
